Elemental composition of particulate matter at Concordia

Concentrations of major, minor and trace elements in particulate matter (PM10) samples, collected at Concordia with monthly time resolution, since January 2018, obtained by PIXE-PIGE and HR-ICP-MS measurements.

Purpose

Within the ongoing PNRA SIDDARTA project, we are analysing atmospheric aerosol, surface snow and snow-pit samples collected at Concordia, as well as soil samples collected in Southern South America and Australia, to study present-day sources and transport processes supplying mineral dust to the Antarctic plateau.
