The vegetation monitoring is performed through the phytosociological method and provides total cover (%), species richness and the dominant species. Monitoring the vegetation related to different active layer conditions. The vegetation monitoring allows the assesment of vegetation and biodiversity patterns as their changes are the most sensitive bioindicators of climat change impacts that can trigger several biotic and evironmental feedbacks on antarctic ecosystems as soil chemistry changes, alteration of CO2 and CH4 fluxes. The species richness indicate the total number of lichens and mosses plus the macrocategories of algae and cyanobacteria occurring at each plot. Finally the dominant species are the one or as maximum two showing the highest cover percentage of all the occurring species . Datasets are initially uploaded to the NADC ERDDAP instance with restricted access (authentication required). They will be made publicly available following publication of the associated paper.
